Monday, K95’s Lori and Billy D wanted to do something to help with the tragedy in Las Vegas. The team approached Virginia Blood Services about a quick turnaround blood drive. That Tuesday afternoon the K95 team had everything together and we started to promote the blood drive for the very next day. Lori and Billy D broadcast live from VA Center Commons encouraging listeners to come by and give blood. Within the first hour, we had 37 people give blood and by 6pm they had to make the decision to turn people away because the wait was extremely long. This blood drive was promoted for exactly 24 hours. The Power of Local Radio is amazing!
