When I think about Lainey Wilson, what immediately comes to mind is her iconic bell bottoms. It’s become her signature look, something she’s asked about a lot. She’s mentioned how she aimed to have something unique to set herself apart.
But there’s an interesting backstory to it. She wanted to create an iconic “Air Jordan” kind of look, in a way. During the early days of her career, while touring the Country Music Television offices with her manager, they were admiring the photos of country icons on the walls. The executive showing them around remarked, “All the legends… you can recognize by their silhouette.”
That comment resonated deeply with Lainey. So, she fully embraced the bell-bottom aesthetic, pairing it with a wide-brim hat to truly stand out. If you were to see a silhouette of all the major country stars, you’d instantly know which one was Lainey. So, she definitely achieved her goal.
It’s also worth noting that she was the only female nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards, and she won! Go Lainey! (The Boot)
