You can call it a Swiss roll, Bismarck, Long John or paczki, but in country music we call it a jelly roll. We also call Jelly Roll the big winner at last night’s CMT Awards.
Jelly scored three trophies – Performance, Male Video and the coveted Video of the Year – and also closed out the show, hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, with his current single, “Halfway to Hell.” Trisha Yearwood received the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award before performing the first song off of her next album, and Brooks and Dunn, Sammy Hagar, Lainey Wilson and Roger Clemens took part in a tribute to Toby Keith.
