Lainey Wilson’s star is shining brighter than ever this year! Not only did she snatch up the Grammy for Best Country Album, but she also clinched the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Country Artist. Talk about a winning streak!

But here’s the kicker – did you know that before her meteoric rise to fame, Lainey faced rejection not once, not twice, but a whopping seven times on “American Idol”? Yep, you heard that right. Seven times!

Imagine her perseverance when she finally stepped onto that “American Idol” stage for the season 21 finale. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “I tried out seven times. I took the long way around, but finally made it on ‘American Idol’. I never made it past the first round.”

When Luke Bryan was told about Lainey’s “Idol” past, he was a bit shocked.  He said, “That was the first time I heard that, but I am glad she didn’t take the ‘Idol’ letdown to heart.”  He then admitted, “We don’t always get it right.”  (Heavy)

And believe it or not, “The Voice” didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for Lainey either.

But let’s talk about her undeniable talent – her performance at the People’s Choice Awards was nothing short of spectacular. She treated the audience to a mesmerizing medley of her chart-topping country hits. If you missed it, you definitely want to catch the replay – it’s pure gold!

And in case you missed it, her performance from the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday was really solid.  She sang a medley of her most popular country hits.  (You can check it out, here.)
