Labor Day Traditions

untitled-1000-x-563-px-28

This morning I woke up at 4:30am on Labor Day. Why would I do such a thing?  It could be to go fishing.  Not today.  I got up to put a 9lb bone-in pork butt on the Big Green Egg. We are having friends over for Labor Day later.  I can’t believe it’s here already. Labor Day holds a special place in the hearts of Americans. It marks the unofficial end of summer and the beginning of a new school year. Across the United States, families and friends gather to enjoy the long weekend and pay tribute to the contributions of workers. In Virginia, the traditions are no different. From parades and picnics to barbecues, Virginians embrace the holiday with enthusiasm. Many flock to the beaches or head to the mountains for one last summer adventure. It’s a time to relax, unwind, and appreciate the hard work that has built this great nation.
