I seem to be struggling quite a bit as a result of the crazy air quality here in Central Virginia thanks to the Eastern Canadian wildfire smoke. In fact, I lost my voice a couple of days ago and I can feel it in my chest.

The influx of Eastern Canadian wildfire smoke into Virginia has led to a significant deterioration in air quality. The smoke, filled with fine particulate matter and harmful pollutants, blankets the atmosphere, resulting in reduced visibility and hazy skies. The presence of high levels of smoke can trigger respiratory issues, worsen allergies, and pose a risk to individuals with pre-existing lung conditions.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has issued a Code ORANGE Air Quality Alert across the Richmond Metro for …fine particulates. They continue to say within the warning, “Air quality is expected to reach Code Orange…which is unhealth for sensitive groups…and means individuals with respitory and/or heart ailments…older adults…and children should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor activities”.
