Special Olympics Summer Games
June 8 - 9
June 8 – 9, 2018 all day
This summer we’re celebrating 50 YEARS of creating more inclusive communities with a Summer Gamescelebration that will be one for the record books!
Join us June 8 – 9. Whether you RUN, PLUNGE or CHEER (or do all 3!), it’s a SPECTATOR TRIATHLON!
|Our Opening Ceremony, June 8 at the University of Richmond, is not to be missed. In addition to showcasing some of Richmond’s top talent, we’ll also welcome our Law Enforcement Torch Run officers home from their 1900+ mile journey across the Commonwealth. You can join us as a cheering fan, or you can be part of our Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Mile!
Join law enforcement officers as they RUN the Flame of Hope through the University of Richmond and into Robins Stadium to light the Olympic Cauldron. Raise $100 and you can be part of this iconic moment during Summer Games. Find out more and register today.
|Despite the heat, we’re planning a cold front with our first-ever SOLAR PLUNGE. Cool down after a hot day (and we promise it will be hot on many levels!) in our above-ground pool outside of the Robins Center at the University of Richmond.
Raise $100 – all to benefit more than 21,000+ athletes – and you can join the coolest event in June; raise more and there are some additional cool incentives headed your way. Make a splash and register today.
|More than 1500 athletes will go for gold in swimming, softball, track & field, bowling and tennis June 8-9, with the help of thousands of volunteers. Plus, we’ll celebrate 50 years with an incredible Opening Ceremony, June 8 at 7:30 pm, during which we’ll light the Olympic Cauldron, sing happy birthday with thousands of fans, showcase some of Richmond’s top talent and light up the sky with fireworks. Visit Volunteer to Cheer to sign up.|
