It’s not love, communication, or shared values. According to a new study , it’s a joint bank account.
Researchers found that married couples with joint bank accounts were happier than those with separate accounts. They also fought less about money and felt better about their household finances. According to researchers, couples with joint accounts felt more like they were “in this together.”
Don’t know how I feel about this research… how old were the folks they surveyed? I think this might be a generational thing. But who knows maybe it works… definitely would make for more conversations about how we spent our money. ~Lori
