Get ready, campers! It’s that time of year again when the camping season is starting, and the great outdoors beckon us with open arms. There’s something undeniably magical about pitching a tent, setting up a cozy campfire, and immersing ourselves in nature’s embrace. As the days grow longer and the weather warms up, it’s the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and unwind in the tranquility of the wilderness.

For me, camping is the epitome of fun and relaxation. It’s a chance to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the simplicity of nature. One of my absolute favorite things about camping is the soothing sound and smell of campfire smoke. There’s a unique serenity that comes from sitting by the fire, sipping my favorite bourbon and listening to the crackling flames. It instantly puts my mind at ease and washes away any stress.

Speaking of camping, my best good pal from Colorado is flying to Virginia, and we are heading to Holliday State Park in a couple of weeks for a camping and kayak fishing extravaganza.  We are texting back and fourth and building our breakfast and dinner menus now.  We always eat like kings on our camping trips.  Venison backstrap for sure and hopefully we’ll fry up some fish too.
