As a dad, it’s hard to believe that my girl is graduating high school in less than a month. It seems like just yesterday she was learning how to ride a bike, or catching her first fish and now she’s getting ready to move out of the house for the first time. I have so many mixed emotions about this new chapter in her life. I remember moving out of the house when I was 18. I was terrified.
On one hand, I’m excited for her. She’s worked hard throughout high school and has a bright future ahead of her. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the years to come. She’s smart, talented, and has a heart of gold. I know she’s going to do great things.
But on the other hand, I’m scared. I won’t be there to protect her from the world anymore. I won’t be able to hold her hand and guide her through life’s challenges. It’s a scary feeling as a dad to know that my little girl is all grown up and ready to face the world on her own.
Despite my fears, I’m also excited to see my daughter grow and become a young woman. I’m proud of the person she’s become and can’t wait to see her take on new challenges and experiences. I know she’s going to make mistakes along the way, but that’s all part of growing up and becoming an adult.
As a dad, it’s hard to let go and watch your child move out of the house for the first time. But I know that this is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her life. And while I won’t be able to protect her from everything, I’ll always be here to support her and guide her along the way through phone calls, texting, snapchat, and facetime.
So to my girl, as you get ready to move out and start your new life, know that I love you and I’m proud of you. You’ve worked hard and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’re going to accomplish in the years to come. Congratulations! Your Dad loves you.
