~~Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles recorded Hank Williams' "Your Cheatin' Heart" to be featured in a Pepsi Max Super Bowl XLVI commercial. The 30-second spot titled "Check-Out" is part of the brand's Cola Wars campaign and also features Regis Philbin.
~~ The 2012 leg of Dierks Bentley's Country & Cold Cans Tour launches April 13 in Los Angeles. Eli Young Band, Will Hoge and Cadillac Black will support in select markets. Tickets go on sale Feb, 10.
Meantime, Dierks headlines Nashville's Ryman Auditorium this Thursday (2/2).
~~ Faith Hill has been added to the luncheon concert series during Country Radio Seminar, a private event for radio programmers and personalities, taking place Feb. 22-24 at the Nashville Convention Center.
As previously reported, Alan Jackson will a luncheon concert sponsored by Capitol Nashville on Feb. 23. The seminar will conclude with the annual New Faces of Country Music Show on Feb. 24. This year's performers are Hunter Hayes, David Nail, Sunny Sweeney, Thompson Square and the Eli Young Band.
BLAKE SHELTON appears on the cover of the February issue of Redbook magazine. It's the Hot Husbands issue and MIRANDA LAMBERT talks about what makes Blake a hot husband. She says the one word that best describes Blake is personality because he lights up every room and is the life of the party.
RASCAL FLATTS will soon open what the band hopes will be first in a line of restaurants. The first location will open in Columbus, Ohio, and will include writer’s nights and American cuisine.
RONNIE DUNN says he’s not sure if he’ll be like his musical heroes MERLE HAGGARD and WILLIE NELSON and continue touring for the rest of his life. But, he also points out that other than some basic photography, he doesn’t have any other hobbies aside from music.
WILLIE NELSON will be part of a compilation album called Occupy Wall Street to be released this spring. Proceeds will benefit the Occupy movement. Other acts on the album include Lucinda Williams, Jackson Browne and Third Eye Blind.
DARRYL WORLEY has signed with a new record label (Tenacity/Crazytown Records). He will release a new single this spring.
